DESCRIPTION:Shelby Van Pelt\, author of the 2026 Salem Reads book 
 Remarkably Bright Creatures\, visits Salem for an author talk and book 
 signing. Van Pelt will be in conversation with Carlee Wright\, publisher of 
 Press Play Salem at the Salem Convention Center\, 200 Commercial St. SE in 
 Salem on the second floor in the Willamette Ballroom. (PLEASE NOTE: This 
 event location has been moved to offer more seating.) Doors open at 6:30 
 p.m.\n\nThey will talk about Van Pelt's 2022 release that became an instant 
 New York Times bestseller\, exploring the themes and inspiration for this 
 extraordinary story of a unique friendship between an aging night custodian 
 and a restless octopus who connect during their hours spent in a coastal 
 aquarium. A book signing will follow. Books will be available for purchase 
 at the event through a partnership with The Book Bin.\n\nThis program will 
 be interpreted live into American Sign Language.  Free. Registration 
 required. \n\nThis is the signature event of Salem Reads 2026\, the 10th 
 annual One Book\, One Community project supported by the Salem Public 
 Library Foundation.\n\n\nShelby Van Pelt\, autora del libro Crituras
