Exploring Together: A Focus on Censorship

Exploring Together: A Focus on Censorship Online

Censorship is a consistent topic in the media and politics, but what are the issues behind this subject? Who is pushing for control in this arena, and why? Salem Public Library invites you to join us as we provide an opportunity for community members to do the important work of exploring censorship in America. In this series of community conversations, staff will act as facilitators and work to establish a respectful and supportive space for everyone to contribute their thoughts, share questions, and explore the ideas from the readings and videos. Each of the three discussions will have its own focus:

  • Session 1: Parental Control and Book Banning - June 21
  • Session 2: Media Manipulation - July 19
  • Session 3: Legislation and Learning - August 16
